چکیده

common carp ( cyprinus carpio ) population has been declined in the caspian sea in the recent years, mainly due to human manipulation. this valuable species needs to be protected in the caspian sea. considering the commercial value of common carp, its rehabilitation program has been established. in the present study, 8 microsatellite loci were used to assess genetic variation and population structure of common carp in gomishan bay (gb) and gorganroud river (gr). these two regions are the most important habitat of common carp. mean actual (n a ) and expected (n e ) alleles numbers were 15.12 and 11.35 for gb and gr, respectively. mean observed (h o ) and expected (h e ) heterozygocity were 0.99 and 0.90 for gb and gr, respectively. results, also, showed that all investigated loci were polymorphic. twelve out of 16 tested locus×region combinations showed significant deviation from hardy-weinberg equilibrium (hwe) which could be mainly due to increase in h e . f st index was found to be 0.011. hence, amova showed that observed variation was related to within population (99%) as well as between populations (1%). according to the results, it is suggested that studied populations have a great allelic richness and gene flow.

Genetic analysis of wild common carp, Cyprinus carpio L. in the Anzali wetland, the Caspian Sea

The Caspian Sea and its basin (e.g. Anzali wetland) is one of the natural habitats of wild common carp Cyprinus carpio. In this study the genetic structure of this species. In the south-west of Caspian Sea (the Anzali wetland) was investigated using PCR-RFLP analysis of D-loop region. Two hundred of mature fish were collected from 5 stations (40 individuals from each station) including Siahkesh...

Genetic Variations of Common Carp (Cyprinus carpio L.) In South-Eastern Part of Caspian Sea Using Five Microsatellite Loci

Five highly variable microsatellite loci were used to investigate genetic variations and population structure of common carp of Caspian Sea. A total of 54 fish were genotyped giving 35 alleles over all loci. The mean number of alleles, per locus in population ranges from 5.5 to 13.0 and the mean observed heterozygosity at the five loci was 0.84. An analysis of genetic variations indicated the H...

Common Carp, Cyprinus carpio

The common carp (Cyprinus carpio) belongs to the family Cyprinidae. In nature, carp live in the middle or lower reaches of a river with slow currents, or in marshes. Their habitats are usually weedy areas with a muddy bottom. Carp fry feed on zooplankton such as rotifers and copepods, but as they grow up they become benthic feeders, feeding on animals and other organic material. The cyprinids h...

Estimation of growth parameters and mortality rate of common carp (Cyprinus carpio, Linnaeus 1758) population in the southern Caspian Sea

Common carp (Cyprinus carpio) represents one of the most economically important fish species in the Caspian Sea. In this study, growth and mortality parameters among population of common carp was investigated. Sampling was carried out weekly, using beach seine in the south of the Caspian Sea from October 2006 to September 2007. As a contribution to elaborating management programs for common car...
